Agriculture & Agrifood Committee meeting
The French-Georgian Chamber of Commerce and Industry – CCIFG had the pleasure of hosting the Agriculture & Agrifood Committee meeting, bringing together member companies active in the agricultural and agrifood sectors for an exchange focused on development and cooperation challenges in Georgia, in the presence of European representatives and the French Development Agency (AFD).
The meeting notably brought together Mr. Denis Reiss, representative of the Delegation of the European Union to Georgia, responsible for overseeing agricultural policies and cooperation in the field of sustainable food systems, as well as Mr. Christophe Cordonnier, representative of the AFD, in charge of agricultural projects in the country.
Lactalis, the leading milk collector and processor in Georgia, was also represented, alongside CCIFG committee members from the agrifood sector, and presented its dairy farm project, highlighting the group’s commitment to supporting local development and improving milk quality across the country.
The discussions provided an overview of the main challenges facing Georgian agriculture – including quality, traceability, and the integration of small producers – while identifying concrete ways to strengthen local value chains and encourage private investment.
Many thanks to all participants for their constructive exchanges and their commitment to a sustainable and promising agricultural future for Georgia!
