Gault&Millau - 2018 Gala Dinner

   On July 3rd, Gault&Millau Georgia organised its Gala Dinner at Andropov Ears. More than 200 guests from different nationalities were invited to share this important moment together. H.E. the French Ambassador in Georgia Mr. Pascal Meunier and H.E. the Ambassador Extraordinary and Plenipotentiary of Japan to Georgia Mr. Tadaharu Uehara were attending. The CCIFG team was also present.

   The topic was vocational education and professionalism. Before the gala, there has been an active campaign created to  increase awareness of the public towards vocational education and many of Gault&Millau goodwill ambassadors (top professionals in their respective sectors, among others Antoine Bardon) gave TV interview to highlight the importance of professional education in the hospitality industry.

   H.E. the French Ambassador in Georgia Mr. Pascal Meunier has been asked to make a speech during the evening in order to congratulate the success of the French company Gault&Millau in Georgia and also to deliver 3 diploma to major actors of the tourism sector in Georgia.

   The honorary title of Outstanding Contributor for the Culinary and Hospitality Industries was rewarded to:

  • Bakhva Bregvadze
  • Georges Ramishvili
  • Antoine Bardon, President of the CCIFG for its contribution to the futur openning of the Vatel school in Georgia.

   A prize was also attributed to Gigi Antadze, a child of 15 years old that is selling juice in Mziuri Park in the center of Tbilisi in order to help his family.

   Tbilisi Mayor Kakha Kaladze offered him a food stand.

   This Gala Dinner was the occasion to honour 4 different chefs that cooked one of the 4 meals offer to the guests during the evening. Chef Irakli Todadze cooked the first course, follow then by the second one offered by the Chef Tekuna Gachechiladze. Then the main course has been cooked by tgh Chef Guram Bachdoshvili and the dessert by Chef Enzo Neri.

   The music created a special atmosphere during the dinner as the Georgian iconic singer Nani Bregvadze offered the guests a special representation that was followed by a recital of her daughter Eka Mamaladze and then by her granddaughter Natalia Kutateladze.

 

    The famous French brand Gault&Millau entered in Georgia in 2017 and offer critics and reviews to put the light on the best restaurants, chefs, young talents and on the country culinar history.  The entry of the brand is important for the development of the country according to the founder Tornike Bakhtirdze as the aim of Gault&Millau is to create awarness around the Georgian cuisine and to acquaint the world with it.

   The reviews can be find on the internet site and also on the mobile application. Also every year the yellow guide is publish in Georgia. The first one was publish in 1972 in France and now the book is well known and recognised. The brand is present in 30 countries and this number is growing everyday.

   Georgian restaurents receiving an excellency award for their cuisine are displaying it on the wall, taking pride of this French reconnaissance.
