Georgia - Impact of Covid-19, support measures and deconfinement

A stagnant economy, deprived of its main source of revenue from tourism, leads to a deterioration in public accounts and requires massive intervention by donors. Everyone agrees that the economy will go into recession. The government's support plan, which initially focused on the tourism sector, is now aimed at the entire population that has lost its source of income and is more committed to public finances. The announced public support plan is massive and now represents USD 1.2 billion or 8% of GDP, largely supported by the IFIs, which would finance around USD 1.5 billion.
